1.  Why have a website?

The purpose of this website is to promote WIHS Class of '76 activities and to keep our class connected.

This website is FREE!  Unlike the commercial websites at Classmates and Reunion, there is no cost to use this website.  If you care to browse the site, post a message on the message board or update your info, please feel free!  You won't be asked to join and pay a membership fee.

This website will provide ONE LOCATION for our classmates to get information and stay in touch.  It's our place in cyberspace!

2.  How can I update my profile?

If you want to update your biography or send a "NOW" picture, please e-mail them to jamie@westislip76.org.   Please be sure to identify yourself since a lot of e-mail names (i.e., schmoopy1174) aren't clear.   I'll post your image and bio within 24 hours and send you a confirmation.

3.  What should I put in my biography?

The biography section is yours to create!  Be brief, be long-winded, it's up to you!  Most people want to know what you did after high school (school, career, family, etc.), but the choice is yours.

4.  I don't want to make my e-mail address public.  What other options do I have?

If you want to keep your personal e-mail address private or are concerned about getting "spammed", consider getting a FREE e-mail account from GOOGLE, YAHOO, or HOTMAIL that you only use for Class of '76 stuff.

5.  Why can't anyone use the new Message Board? (updated)

Message Board use is restricted to members of the WIHS Class of 1976 due to costs and the ability to control spam on the website.

6.
Why do some classmates have more than one "THEN" picture?

This action was not intentional.  The initial goal was to post as many images as possible.  Unfortunately, some images were too small to post or lost clarity when resized.  Ultimately, time became a factor and publishing the website (before the reunion) took priority.  The goal now is to get as many "NOW" images published as possible (see question #2).

7.  Why are some classmates missing "THEN" pictures?

Missing graduation photos were either not printed in the yearbook OR the classmate wrote their salutation directly over their face.  I would appreciate any help in replacing these images.  If you have a yearbook and a scanner, please e-mail them to: jamie@westislip76.org

8.  I know a classmate who has passed on, but is not listed in the "IN MEMORY" section.  Can you correct this?

Of course.  Please send the information to jamie@westislip76.org and I will move them to the IN MEMORY section.  If you have a post-high school image or tribute you'd like posted, I will honor that request as well.

9.  Can you notify me whenever the website's updated?  (updated)

Yes, you can do this signing up to receive free updates via our TWITTER link: http://www.twitter.com/westislip76

10.  Now that our 30th reunion is behind us, what can I do?

   - Use the Message Board to stay in touch with the class.  Say hello; let everyone know when you've connected with a classmate; help promote an event in your local area that WIHS '76ers might want to attend.  Your actions will keep the class connected and motivate others to do the same!

   - Update your profile with a biography and "NOW" picture. (Seeing how we've aged over the last 30+ years is the most popular feature of this website!)

   - Use the Message Board to search out an old friend!  You never know who might be in touch with that classmate and can help you reconnect!

   - The reunion may be behind us, but please continue to take pictures whenever you get together with your '76 friends.  Just e-mail them and we'll get them posted!   New pictures keep everyone coming back to the website and help keep our class connected!

   - Honor our classmates (and teachers) who have passed on.  Share a special story/experience.

11.  This website is great!  Did it take a lot of time?

Yes!  With over 700 graduates, hundreds of hours were spent scanning, resizing and creating profiles for each classmate.  With the 30th reunion behind us, maintaining the website involves updating pages when classmates send in new info.  With your help, this site will get even better!
